Work with a project
After you create or open a project, you can manage it using the panels on the project's screen.


Project Name. The name of the individual project you have opened is shown in the tab name and in the first panel on the left side.



Content panel. This panel lists the folders and components that you can use in your project work, such as when working on project Assignments or Workflows.

In the Content panel, you can take the following actions:
Collapse the panel to show only the title bar.
Open the Select Project Components screen to see the complete name of the components, and use advanced search to search through all folders within a project. You can select components here, and after the screen closes, they are listed on the project's main dashboard (in the Selected Components panel).

- To see more text in the Components pane, collapse the Folders panel by clicking
the arrow that's pointing left.
- To quickly expand or collapse the folders, use the
expand all and
collapse all buttons.
- To find a component by keyword, in Search, enter words or phrases used in the component's name. In Within, select where in the project you want to search (Current Folder, Current and Subfolders, All Folders). Click Search
. - To find a component by creating a query, click
Advanced Search.
- Fields correspond to the columns in the grid. In the Field list, select the column you want to search in, such as Component State.
- After you select a Field, you must describe the relationship it has with the Value. In the Operator list, to include or exclude some or all of the values that you want to use, select an operator, such as
<>(not equal to). - The options in the Value list change depending on what you selected in Field. In the Value, select or enter the word, phrase, or number you are searching for in relation to the Field. For example, Component State (Field)
<>(Operator) Invalid (Value). - In Within, select where in the project you want to search (Current Folder, Current and Subfolders, All Folders).
- Optionally, to enter another clause to your query, click
Add. Select whether you want to narrow your search by requiring that all statements must be true (And), or expand your search by requiring that any of the statements can be true (Or). - Click Search
.
- To select multiple components to manage, select the checkbox for each component.
Result: The components are listed on the Selected Components panel. - After you select the component(s) you want, click Select.
Refresh shows the most current list of folders and components.
- If you refresh the project Content panel, Inspire remembers which Folders were expanded
- If you refresh the project Content panel, Inspire also refreshes the Selected Components panel
- When you create a project assignment, before you see the Create Assignment screen, Inspire refreshes the Content panel.
- When you create a project workflow, before you see the Start workflow screen, Inspire refreshes the Content panel.
- When a user moves the project workflow to the next task, before you see the Next workflow task screen, Inspire refreshes the Content panel.

Project details. All the data describing your project is shown here.

- A project Owner can have special permissions to manage projects that a project participant may not have.
- You can enter optional details such as Start By and Due By dates, and a Description.
- The project's default folder, where new components are stored, is shown as System Folder.
In the details panel, you can take the following actions:
Collapse the panel to show only the title bar.
Open the Update project screen. For detailed steps, read: Update project details.
Delete asks you to confirm if you want to delete the project and all of its data.
Refresh shows the most current project details, such as in Updated Date or if the System Folder has been changed.
- If you cancel a project workflow, Inspire refreshes the project details.


Content details panel. After you select a component in the Content panel, you see two panes on the right side. In the Content details panel, the first pane on the right shows details about the file, and the second pane shows a preview of the content.

If no component has been selected in the Content panel, then the Content details panel is empty.
In the Content details panel, you can take the following actions:
Collapse the panel to show only the title bar.
Refresh shows the most current details about the selected component, such as in Updated Date.


Assignments. You can create the tasks you need to complete for your project in this panel. If you create a workflow, the tasks also show up here as an assignment.

In the Assignments panel, you can see the following details:
- Due Date
- Created Date
- Components
- Activity
- Description
- Assigned To
- State
- Completed Date
- Workflow Name
In the Assignments panel, you can take the following actions:
Collapse the panel to show only the title bar.
Save the list of assignments and the details shown in a CSV file. For detailed steps, read: Save a list of project assignments and workflows.
Opens the Create Assignment screen so that you can enter details about the assignment, add components, and enter any notes. For detailed steps, read: Add a project assignment.
Refresh shows the most current assignment details, such as the latest State, and to whom it is assigned.
- When you create a project assignment, before you see the Create Assignment screen, Inspire refreshes the Content panel.


Workflow. The process you design and implement to automate the hand-off between tasks are shown in this panel.

In the Workflow panel, you can take the following actions:
Collapse the panel to show only the title bar.
Save the list of assignments and the details shown in a CSV file. For detailed steps, read: Save a list of project assignments and workflows.
Opens the Start Workflow screen so that you can select a template and assign the initial task. For detailed steps, read: Start a workflow.
Refresh shows the most current workflow details, such as the most recent State.
- When you create a project workflow, before you see the Start workflow screen, Inspire refreshes the Content panel.
- When a user moves the project workflow to the next task, before you see the Next workflow task screen, Inspire refreshes the Content panel.


Participants. The team members who will do the work on the project are shown in this panel.
In the Participants panel, you can take the following actions:

Collapse the panel to show only the title bar.
Open the Select Users/Roles screen to add users whom you want to complete work for this project. For detailed steps, read: Update project details.
Refresh shows the most current list of users and their Email, Security Type, and any Description.


Selected Components. After you select a component, it is listed in this panel so that you can take an action on multiple components at once.

After selecting components, if you click
the Select Project Components option in the Content pane, these components are displayed in that screen's Selected Components panel by default.

. - The options in the Selected Components panel that you select for a project are slightly different from the options you can select in the Components browser.
