You can mark your assignment as completed from the dashboard without opening the project.
Tips and tricks
- You can also open the project to complete an assignment. Follow the steps in: Complete an assignment from a project.
- If an assignment is part of a workflow:
- When the assignment is completed, the workflow can be configured to ask the user to select how the workflow should advance.
- For example, if the user selects Accept, you can configure the workflow to advance to the next step that should occur if the content is ready to move forward to the next stage, such as approval, publishing, or translation.
- For example, if the user selects Reject, you can configure the workflow to return to a step where the content can be revised, republished, or retranslated.

To complete an assignment from the dashboard:

On the Dashboard, in the My Assignments pane, right-click the assignment you've finished and select Complete.


You can also complete an assignment by selecting the assignment, clicking

the Options menu, and then selecting
Complete.

On the Response screen:

In Status, select one of the following options to set it as the assignment's State:
- Completed-Accepted
- Completed-Rejected

Optionally, in Reason, enter text to explain why you selected the Status. You can use up to 200 characters. This information is displayed with the Status in the Assignments panel.

Click Save.
Results:
- The assignment is removed from the dashboard's My Assignments pane.
- You won't receive an email notification because you're the assignee of the assignment.
- An email that the assignment is completed is sent to any email addresses specified for additional notifications.
Inspire now automatically creates a snapshot of all components included in an assignment when you mark the assignment as Completed-Accepted or Completed-Rejected.
- Inspire assigns the snapshot a Process of CompleteAssignment.
- Inspire also gives the snapshot a comment that contains the project name, the workflow name, and the assignment name.
- You search for the snapshot on the Changesets tab using a Process option of CompleteAssignment.
