Unlock and submit a component

When you open a component for editing, Inspire locks the file so that other users can't open it and edit it at the same time. If you make changes and close the component without clicking Save and Submit, the component remains locked. Now, administrators can unlock a component and choose to save the changes.

Restrictions

  • A content owner or administrator can set permissions to deny access to components or folders. If your permissions to content have been blocked and you are not an administrator, you cannot use the Unlock option.
  • The option to submit changes is only available in the Components browser in the following places:
    • Options menu
    • Right-click menu
