Terminate a user session

Users who need to manage organizational details can see the user name of everyone who is currently logged in to an application. If a named seat is in use, and a user does not log out properly, it takes about 20 minutes for the usage status to clear. Now, if you are an organization manager, you can terminate a user's session.

Important

  • You can terminate a session for seats that have a Seat Type of Standard or Review only.
  • You cannot terminate a session for Support seats.
  • Use this option with caution. You are not asked to confirm that you want to terminate the session. It is terminated immediately and the user is signed out.

To terminate a user session:

  1. To open License Manager:
    1. In the top right corner of the Inspire menu bar, click the default profile picture or the one you previously added.
    2. Select My Profile...
  2. You may be asked to authorize your corporate account before License Manager opens.
  3. In License Manager, go to the menu on the left side and select the home Dashboard.
  4. To see the latest data, go to the top right corner of the screen and click Refresh.

    Results: You see the list in Active Sessions().

  5. In the row of a user with a Seat Type of Standard, go to the end and select Terminate Session.

    Results: The user's session is terminated immediately and the user is signed out. They are no longer listed in Active Sessions().
